We are looking for a Process Development Operator in Bécancour to prepare for the commissioning of its graphite purification demonstration plant.

YOUR MISSION

Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Processes and Maintenance, you will oversee the proper operation of purification equipment. In the short term, your duties will also include helping to install equipment and to commission and ramp-up the demonstration plant.

  • Ensure that occupational health and safety and environmental protection standards are upheld at all times.

  • Start up and shut down equipment and make sure that it is working properly.

  • Troubleshoot problems and perform routine inspections.

  • Monitor indicators and control screens to verify and optimize performance from the control panel.

  • Unload and load trucks and bag finished product.

  • Take samples and conduct chemical and physical tests as required and upon request.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and participate in any major maintenance or repairs.

  • Actively participate in continuous improvements.

  • Help develop procedures, methods, standards and specifications to ensure the quality of the purified graphite.

YOUR SKILLS Profile

  • Relevant or transferable experience of three (3) to five (5) years in a similar industrial setting.

  • Minimum education combined with similar successful experience will also be considered.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Skills and interests in manual work.

  • Good skills in maintaining process equipment; skills in mechanics and welding are an important asset.

  • Training on the use of lifting equipment and forklifts.

  • Independence and ability to work with a minimum of supervision and on a rotating schedule.

  • Have teamwork skills along with supervision and training skills.

  • Be able to work in a quickly growing environment while upholding safe practices and demonstrating an attention to detail, methods, and organization.

  • Be able to easily adapt and learn.
