We are looking for a Director, Human Resources to join our Human Resources Department.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, you will play a crucial strategic and operational advisory role in managing the Company’s human capital. This position will require you to:

  • Support managers in different areas, such as strategic planning, performance management, employee relations management, team engagement and cohesion, work organization, change management strategies and tactics, and leadership development.

  • Build the organizational structure with the operations team, strategically plan labour requirements, see to the plan’s implementation, and ensure that staff are trained and available to meet operational needs.

  • Ensure that human resources policies are correctly applied and that they comply with legal regulations.

  • Manage the Training Department: perform high-level planning and create the annual budget for training activities; handle relations with external stakeholders; and represent the company with different coordinating bodies (QMA, CSMO, educational institutions, etc.).

  • Build and maintain a healthy, inclusive and positive work environment and climate by promoting open communication between employees and management.

  • Develop and implement strategies to motivate and retain talent; set up innovative non-monetary incentives to promote recognition and workplace well-being as well as career development opportunities; and create stimulating and engaging programs.

  • Develop compensation, pay equity and job evaluation strategies. Develop and implement innovative working conditions and competitive compensation to meet operational needs and the individual needs of the Company’s talent.

  • Implement and track performance indicators to measure the efficiency of the Human Resources Department.

YOUR SKILLS PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, labour relations or a related field.

  • At least 15 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, including 5 years in a supervisory or management role.

  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, mining or chemical sector and at publicly traded companies is an important asset.

  • Solid knowledge of Québec labour laws and best practices in human resources management.

  • Leadership and excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as a partner with diverse teams.

  • Knowledge of human resources management systems (HRMS) and ERP systems.

  • Ability to communicate and write clearly and concisely in French and English.

  • Professional CHRP or CIRC designation and knowledge of the usual computer applications (MS Office suite) are important assets.
