We’re looking for a Sampling Technician for the laboratory at our Saint-Michel-des-Saints plant.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting to the laboratory supervisor at the Saint-Michel-des-Saints demonstration plant, your main role will be to collect, prepare and analyze ore samples throughout the concentration process. You will work closely with the team that operates the concentrator to guarantee sample quality and provide accurate data to control for quality and optimize mining operations.

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • According to specific protocols, prepare samples through pulverization and other methods required by the laboratory.

  • Carefully label and document each sample for traceability purposes.

  • Use chemical and mineralogical analysis equipment to determine the sample composition.

  • Accurately record the analysis results and submit these to the relevant departments.

  • Work closely with the concentrator operators to plan the sample collection so that there are no disruptions to the production process.

  • Provide timely information to help optimize the processing parameters.

  • Perform basic maintenance on analysis equipment to ensure that it operates effectively.

  • Follow strict safety standards when collecting, preparing and analyzing samples.

YOUR SKILLS PROFILE

  • High school diploma or combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Attention to quality and detail.

  • Analytical skills with particular attention to OHS when performing independent tasks.

  • Ability to work independently and with keen motivation.

  • Ability to manage time depending on daily demands and additional tasks.

  • Adaptability and openness to change.
