13 KTPY BÉCANCOUR BATTERY MATERIAL PLANT

Location: 200,000 m² industrial site in Bécancour, Québec, about 150 km northeast of Montréal, on the banks of the St. Lawrence River.

Production capacity: A 13,000‑tonnes‑per‑year capacity plant, designed to meet Panasonic Energy’s active anode material requirements, in accordance with the technical and quality specifications of this customer and NMG strategic shareholder. To support customer demand, NMG is also pursuing various workstreams aimed at developing additional battery materials plants for the production of active anode material and/or advanced graphite-based materials, which could be established on its adjacent 200,000 m² greenfield site or at other strategically located sites in North America or Europe.

Local advantages: Industrial park with robust local infrastructure, clean and affordable hydroelectricity, direct chemical supply, skilled workforce, and multimodal logistics base close to US and European markets.

Raw materials: Much of the Matawinie Mine’s production will be used as feedstock to supply the plant, taking advantage of operational efficiencies, product traceability, and higher margins.

Technologies: Advanced processing capacity and active R&D to produce among the greenest materials.

Industrial cluster: Rapid development of on-site production of critical minerals and battery materials.

Start-up: Completion of a Class 3 cost estimate in accordance with AACE standards and continued advancement of the required activities, including engineering work and ongoing collaboration with Panasonic Energy, in support of a final investment decision targeted within the coming months.
