We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to use their diligence and creativity to ensure that our manufacturing processes remain reliable, effective and efficient.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting to the VAP Project Manager, the Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing the plant’s processes for transforming graphite into anode material using our full-scale demo plant facilities. As part of our technical team for value-added materials, you will work closely with our company’s production teams, consultants, testing laboratories and technology suppliers to determine the optimum design for our commercial plants.

The position’s specific challenges include the following duties:

  • Design and develop production processes using engineering principles and industry standards to achieve high quality and an efficient production.
  • Optimize existing processes to improve the quality, productivity and profitability of production operations.
  • Work with production teams to resolve production problems, such as machine breakdowns, quality problems, safety issues, etc.
  • Evaluate production costs and budgets to ensure that production processes are efficient and cost-effective.
  • Help set up new equipment and new production facilities with the design and maintenance teams.
  • Work with the R&D teams to identify new technologies and production methods that could improve production and product quality.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for production processes following existing standards and regulations.

YOUR SKILLS PROFILE

  • Diploma in chemical or metallurgical engineering.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in industrial process design at a plant or in a consulting environment.
  • Strong communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to resolve production problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Good understanding of production costs and operational profitability.
  • Basic computer skills to use process design and simulation software.
  • Experience with operations in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in a project environment.
  • Experience with industrial commissioning (an asset).
