WHY A monitoring COMMITTEE ?
Since 2017, a committee assists Nouveau Monde on the development of the Matawinie project. Its role: to ensure the project implementation respects the host milieu, minimizes environmental impact and maximizes the positive effects on the region. Its goal: to encourage community involvement in the overall graphite mining project.
The exchange of local know-how and scientific knowledge that takes place in the meetings of our accompanying committee, allows us to validate our independent experts choices and to anticipate the different stakes in order to plan the best actions in the economic, social and environmental levels for the whole region.
